Not all Whine and Roses

I realize that my blogs are generally filled with happy warm  fuzzys at every new sentence. Let me assure you though, It's not all wine and Roses. For example, the fourth of July this year was jam packed with friend and family filled activities like swimming at the Rogers where it was time for Margaritas, Grilled eats, and basking in the sun.

Ethan took his usual favorite spot in the hammock. He is so at peace there.

Maddie got silly in the pool. Of course, we all get a little silly in the pool.

As evening approached, Dinner at Grandma and Pop-o's was in order. On their back porch, "E" learned that windmill toys are laugh-out-loud funny.

To top off the night, Grandma came with us to see fireworks. Everything started out great. There was a country cover band that we all enjoyed, especially Zoey. She danced and smiled and had a good ole' time.

But soon she and "E" were very tired. These two little monkeys are used to going to bed at 8pm. By 7pm they are starting to show signs of sleepiness. After a long day in and out of the sun, my babies were beat! Here is where things go a little down hill. We chose a place to sit and wait for the fire works to begin. We attempted to get a family picture. Which is never a good idea with sleepy children.

As Zoey got really tired she just wanted to be held.

Just before the fireworks started Zoey fell asleep. Then Ethan went ballistic with tears over some unknown cause. It scared me silly. I had no idea what was wrong with him but whatever it was, it was bad. Then the fireworks started. Wouldn't you know it, there was a big tree blocking our view of all the fireworks. Then zoey started repeating, "Uh Ho Ho Home." (which in Zoey language means, I want to go home). Since "E" was unhappy, Zoey wanted to go home, and we couldn't see the fireworks anyway we started to pack it up and head back to the car. I was bummed. It wasn't the ideal firework experience I had in my head. We ended up watching the fireworks from the car. Zoey woke up and enjoyed them too. So it wasn't all bad. Plus we got out of the parking lot really quickly since we were already at the car.
So I'd just like to let it be known that we have our big spills...

and fits of crying at bath times.

We have our fair share of screaming.

 And whining

 and messes.

But at the end of the day, I can always pull more happy moments away from my day then frustrating ones. And that's what this blog is all about. Pointing out the positive and letting go the negative.
