I woke up this morning at 2:45am with an awful headache. E woke up at the same time. We were, more or less, both up until 4am. By 6am, when the rest of the family woke up, my head hurt so bad I could barely see. Henry had to work and I was home with the kids. I thought it was going to be a lazy, painful, awful day.

Luckily, my wonderful Mom saved the day! She brought me some Aleve-D and bags full of my favorite comfort food. While I waited and prayed for the Aleve-D to kick in, I set Zoey up with a painting station in the living room. She created 2 wonderful works of art!
It wasn't long before I felt a bunch better! I was so grateful for feeling good, I decided to drive the kids out to the city for a very special day! We visited Auntie Katie and Uncle Josh's home for the first time! After a quick tour of her new place, we headed to Lincoln Park Zoo!
It was Zoey's and Ethan's first time there. And I hadn't been there in so long, I was really excited. We're lucky. It was very nice outside.
Zoey fell in love with the Gray Seal. We spent most of our time watching the seal swim by over and over and over again in the underwater viewing area. When we were above ground, Zoey was tyring to slip underneath the railing so she could join the Grey Seal in his "tub".
We all headed out to the backyard, where Josh built a fire, shared a lollipop with "E", and taught Zoey how to roast marshmallows. Too bad she thought they were, "Eww.. gross!"

Later, back at Auntie Katie's house, E crawled around, inspecting every nook and cranny of this new environment while Zoey watched Veggie tales.
Uncle Josh prepped some shrimp for dinner and taught Zoey how to use the force.

What started out a a very sick day, turned into a day that was positively pleasant! The kiddos had so much fun and excitement, neither of them napped much. Ethan fell fast asleep before we left Katie's house and Zoey was immediately out after getting into the car to head home.

I love, love, LOVE! this story!
