When the football season approaches, I get this overwhelming urge to prepare bar food. This year I focused on mass quantities of jalapeno poppers and chicken fingers.
This year, the jalapenos were donated to us by our wonderful Mom Marie!
The cheese for the filling... Yum Yum Yum!
An extra added perk this year, was Zoey being able to help me with the mashing & mixing of the cheese.
It took a while to scoop out the seeds and bread these puppies. I did a triple breading because I wanted my poppers to be nice and crispy this year.
Henry and I were so busy doing our personal projects that Zoey found an opportunity to steal the baby powder from the bathroom and cove herself in it on the couch. It's times like these when Henry and I are grateful for the couch cover! I was laughing hysterically!
The Poppers would have been prefect If I would have taken more care in getting the seeds and membrane out. These puppies are the HOTTEST poppers I've ever had in my life! Henry and I learned really quickly that one person should not eat more then two unless they really want to clean themselves out (If you catch my drift). Now I have a bag full of frozen poppers in the freezer that I will SLOWLY but surely eat throughout the next year.
Lucky for Zoey, I also made my homemade chicken fingers. They turned out wonderfully. And we all chowed!
This is the only time of year that I bust out the deep fryer. I set myself up with a nice station outside and fry baby fry! Mmmm.... now I really want some chicken fingers and honey mustard.
