This Mother's Day was a long one. The day began with a full nights sleep. This must have been a gift from my children. They both slept through the night. This is not a common occurrence. So from the beginning, I knew the day would be special and my mood would be bright.
It was a beautiful day. For breakfast, at my request, Henry made us all McHank's. That's what we call them. They are my absolute favorite breakfast sandwich EVER! Made from Henry's homemade yogurt biscuits... they are melt-in-my-mouth moist and tasty. He puts some eggs, cheese and oven baked crispy-as-all-get-out bacon between one of his warm and fluffy biscuits. YUMMY! I had two. I usually do.
We often end our evenings at Grandma B's with a short performance on the piano from Grandma. Zoey danced around with her bottle hanging from her mouth and her blankets flying through the air. In the end, she was laying on the floor again. Zoey will lay down anywhere.

With full tummies, we let our creative juices flow on a crafty mother's day card for Grandma B (a.k.a Flowerlady1234) . The idea came from a site I really enjoy called BabyCenter. Zoey did a really great job with the markers and the glue. She is constantly impressing me with her skills and talents.
In the morning, before nap time, we all stepped out to enjoy the unbelievable weather together. We took a nice long hike through the Spring Valley Nature Center and visited the 1880's living history farm.
We walked for miles...
And we took breaks.
We played with the animals and learned a bit of history about this land.
The morning was filled with energy and laughter. When it was over, Zoey was ready to sleep.
Dinner brought the family together for games. There were many hits and many runs. There were lots of smiles and a ton of high fives!
It was a good evening to relax and just enjoy being together.

It was a long... and truly happy Mother's day.

So cute! I love reading these. I am however disappointed there wasn't a recipe for Henry's biscuits. =( (This is Amanda by the way)
