The Circus

Through work, I acquired a stack of free child admission tickets and one free adult pass to the Piccadilly Circus. Of course, since I can't pass up anything free, I had to take the little ones and I'd invited a few of my nearest and dearests along for the show.

This was the first time I've taken my babies out to an event like this. I have to admit, It would never have been possible without my mother, sister and nephew support system. I was a little nervous about whether or not Zoey would be able to sit still long enough to watch any of the show. So I packed an arsenal of diaper bag goodies just in case.

I'm not sure why, but one of the best parts was walking in to the arena, smelling the popcorn, and seeing the vendors selling cotton candy and all kinds of light up toys.

There was nothing I loved more as a kid then being given fun, little, light up toys when the family was at a circus, or Great America or (my personal fav) Disney World. Liam was a very lucky because Grandma bought him this really fancy light up sword. Grandma asked Zoey if she wanted one too. She said no. The colorful circus toys didn't impress Zoey at all. She was mostly interested in eating Auntie Katie' fries and sipping on her snow cone.

The show started about 30 minutes late. When it did, Zoey was a little frightened by the loud music and the guy on the motor cycle driving up a cable cord. "Careful!" She said, "Careful Mommy!" She was very concerned for the man on that bike and the two women hanging from it. Too cute. I thought it was a sweet little show, even if it was just an excuse to get kids in the door so they would pay for face painting and elephant rides.

The best part... the really, really best part... was being there with my family. Snuggling my babies and introducing them to yet another one of the really exciting experiences this world has to offer. Maybe it wasn't the best circus in the world but it was a special time and I'll always remember it fondly.
